Bring Change to Washington Now

George believes change must be brought to Washington now, one election at a time, starting with this election in the 3rd Congressional District of Georgia.

Women, Families, and Healthcare

George will introduce or support legislation to finally pass the ERA (Equal Rights Amendment), creating federal standards for maternity and paternity leave, a bill to make the standards of Roe v. Wade the law, and that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) must be the law again. George supports affordable universal healthcare through a single-payer system.

War Powers Act

George will advance and protect the War Powers Act, once again making it the law that only Congress can declare war. George will support and protect unconditional support for active duty military and continue to champion veterans.

Vision for America

George Melville Johnson supports the repatriation of American technological, customer service, and manufacturing jobs, ensuring that industry and opportunity are brought back home to strengthen the nation’s economic foundation. He believes this must be paired with smart economic policies, including tax credits and other targeted initiatives, to ensure corporations remain profitable while those profits also benefit the American people. His vision also includes a legal immigration system that supports a structured guest worker program, creating a clear and responsible pathway to citizenship after ten years of obeying the law and paying taxes. Through this balanced approach, George believes American workers will have greater opportunity to grow, advance, and move up the economic chain.

Education

George Melville Johnson will introduce or support legislation to increase teacher salaries and strengthen pensions at the federal level, recognizing that educators must be properly valued and supported. He supports free access to technical colleges and public colleges and universities for qualified students, ensuring that higher education and workforce training are within reach. George is especially passionate about reforming the current student loan system, believing that our youth and their families should not carry a lifetime burden of debt. He will also support infrastructure legislation to rebuild and modernize schools and universities, creating safe, effective learning environments for the next generation.

Seniors

George Melville Johnson supports the Administration on Aging (AoA) within the Department of Human Services (DHS), including increased funding and an expansion of its powers to better serve older Americans. He believes seniors must be protected from fraud, abuse, theft, and isolation, and that stronger safeguards are necessary to ensure their safety and dignity. George also believes Social Security must be increased, not decreased, and that Medicare must be both affordable and expanded to meet the needs of our aging population.

Our Communities

George Melville Johnson recognizes that our district spans 15 counties, both suburban and rural, where interests may differ, but every community deserves a voice and proper funding. Growth is here, and with the rise of AI and rapid development, he believes that growth must be controlled and responsibly monitored. George will support and introduce legislation to regulate data centers and ensure that expansion does not come at the expense of local communities. He also believes rural farmers need support to strengthen their profits by offsetting the costs imposed by corporate agriculture, and that towns have critical challenges that must be addressed. George is committed to ensuring that rural communities and towns have the same right to prosperity as suburban areas, and that resources are provided to improve, support, and educate all communities across the district.

Judicial Reform

George Melville Johnson recognizes that federal judges currently serve lifetime appointments and believes reform is necessary to ensure accountability and balance within the judicial system. He supports establishing term limits of twenty years for federal judges and expanding the Supreme Court from nine to eleven justices, with a long-term vision of increasing the Court to thirteen.
